Frequently Asked Questions
UP FRONT PRICING
You are getting a great value when you have Zell Plumbing & Heating working for you to meet your plumbing and heating needs, because we strive to deliver clean, professional work in a friendly manner.
The way we charge for our services is based on the work that needs to be performed. We are proud of this because we feel it is the fairest way to do business. When a plumber arrives at your home he will assess the plumbing situation and write up a proposed invoice for you to examine, ask questions on and approve. Once the work is approved to do, our plumber will get to work right away in a timely and efficient manner. There are no hidden costs or fees, you know the cost before we even start the work. If you choose not to have the work completed, all you are responsible is our nominal diagnostic service which includes the inspection, written proposal and the plumber's trip to your home.
ESTIMATES
Estimated costs and questions can be received by calling 651-777-7333.
Because all homes and their plumbing and heating systems can be quite different, we usually recommend for a plumber to do a physical inspection of the work before we write up a detailed, accurate estimate for you. We can schedule an appointment for a plumber to come out and give a written estimate at the job site.
Estimates are always free when you have the work done. If you choose to have another company complete your project there is a one-time nominal diagnostic fee.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO SCHEDULE WORK?
For normal plumbing repair, generally we can schedule a service technician to come to your house within one to two business days. However, it is hard to predict just how busy our plumbing and heating technicians will be at any give time, so it is best to give us as much time as possible to schedule your work.
If you need service immediately, it is best to call our customer service representative at (651) 777-7333. We will do our best to meet your needs and get your plumbing and heating issue taken care of as soon as possible.
WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT OPTIONS?
We accept cash, check and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and Discover) as payment.
DOES IT MATTER THAT MY TOILET IS ALWAYS RUNNING?
This is not only an annoyance, but also is a waste of water and money. Leaky toilets can cost almost $100.00 extra per year on your water bills. It is best to contact our customer service representative at (651) 777-7333 and we will have a plumber contact you to diagnose the problem and set up a time to repair it.
WHY DO MY DRAINS GET CLOGGED?
Usually drains are clogged because people are not always careful what you put down them, especially kitchen drains. Other drains, like bathroom drains, get clogged because of the oil residue from soaps, shampoos and hair. It is important to be conscious of what you put down your drains and remember they are made just for water to flow through, not food or any other objects.
WHY IS THERE A SEWER SMELL IN MY HOME?
The most common cause of sewer smell in the house is a dry p-trap, a curved pipe that is usually filled with water as a seal to hold out sewer gas. Unused shower or utility room overflow drains are often the culprits due to the evaporation of water in the trap. Pouring a little water down the drain will often cure the smell. If there are no such drains, it’s time to call a plumber.
